things i love...in no certain order.
--watching movies for free.
--reading gossip magazines while i wait in line to check out.
--sonic fountain drinks.
--reuniting with friends after a long period of time.
--the sound of rain on the window.
--staying in my pjs all day and watching movies.
--singing loudly with the radio (this has become difficult since i no longer have a car radio).
--taking candid pictures...especially ones that catch a person's personality or emotion.
--sleep.
--reading a good book.
--the beach at night.
--being around people who i feel completely comfortable being myself when i'm with them.
--cuddling.
--days off.
--taco bell at midnight.
--the chi.
--finding the perfect gift for a close friend.
--birthdays.
--text messaging...weird, i know.
--laughing.
--crying.
--purses.
things i hate...also in no certain order.
--people who talk during movies.
--when my pants get wet when it rains.
--hot, humid days.
--being so far away from good friends.
--flying...but i do it anyway.
--public speaking.
--talking on the phone.
--the sound of dogs drinking water...throw in a toilet bowl and you might as well shoot me!
--those times when i feel far away from the lord.
--inconsistency.
--shopping without money...an oxymoron, i know.
apartment update:
all my stuff is moved out of storage and is now living in my new apartment. most of it is even unpacked thanks to my loyal starbucks friends. i'm not living there yet due to some minor repairs that have to be done (new hot water heater and new deck). hopefully i can fully move in this weekend. at least that's what i'm hoping.

So I wasn't off on Friday like I normally am, hence the reason I didn't post a new blog. We went to a ministry conference in Shreveport Friday and Saturday. It was put on by Frazer UMC in Montgomery, AL. Trinity recently read "Treasures of the Transformed Life" as part of our stewardship campaign and John Ed Mathison, the author, headed up the conference. I had met him a while ago at Asbury. It was good to reconnect with him and hear firsthand what God is doing at their church. It definitely came at a good time for me because I've been feeling the beginning stages of burn-out due to lack of volunteer help. Hopefully we can get that figured out soon. I was encouraged by how many on staff started out in a different position that didn't work and then moved into something they're really passionate about. That is my hope.
My weeks continue to be filled with work which I suppose is good since I don't have money to spend but I figured out last week I barely saw friends outside of Starbucks and Trinity. That's never good. I think I'm going to join a new small group at the end of the month that will meet during the day...very convenient when you work at a church!
Tomorrow is move day...sort of. They're having to repair a couple of things so my landlord doesn't want me to stay there but I can at least move my stuff in since I had already lined up a few friends to help. I'm super excited and did I mention, super broke:) Yay for tax returns!

Friday...my day off.
9:45am: wake up...excited that I got to sleep in
10am: realize my mom is still home; she mentions that the trunk of my car was open.
10:15am: I begin to wonder about this and decide to investigate. I open my car door and immediately notice that my cd player is GONE! Yep, it's been stolen. Everything else in my car (nothing valuable) is strewn everywhere. Sigh.
10:20am: Call the police. They tell me they picked up 2 guys last night further down the street and they're sending someone out here.
10:25am: Policeman arrives (talk about expediency) to take my report. He gets my info and tells me that they caught 2 out of the 3 guys and charged them with several counts of theft.
noon: My mom goes out to her car to leave for work and realizes her Mary Kay stuff she had picked up yesterday is gone...what?! Really, what do guys need with Mary Kay!! It was worth about 60 bucks.
12:30pm: Talk to the neighbors and find out many of us had stuff stolen. None of us on this street lock our cars...we've never had a reason to...til now! Even in times such as this, it's nice to know we're not alone.
So, now I get to drive around with no radio until we find out if they were able to retrieve any of the stuff that was stolen or if the 3rd guy took off with everything. I was definitely not intending to drop another couple hundred dollars on a cd player. I'm still saving to get into an apartment. Geesh. In the meantime I'll just ride around listening to my ipod with my earbuds.
Here are some pics of the new place. I'm hoping to move in a couple of weeks.

Garage...I must say this is even more exciting after having my car broken into:)

The time has finally come for my friend, John to move on. He was supposed to move to Mobile last Friday but ended up staying til Wednesday. I'm so grateful that I got to spend an extra 5 days with him. So far he's loving his new job. Although I'm certainly happy for him, I already miss him and am looking forward to seeing him at the end of the month.

Sorry I've been MIA...
Things in my life:
--a friend moving
--crazy holidays
--apartment hunting
--lots of eating (aka weight gaining!)
I promise to share more about all these things very soon. For now I must go to bed and face the reality that my lovely holiday is over and I must get back to work.
